Qatar Airways arrives in Seattle!

Qatar Airways just announced a new service between Seattle and Doha. The service is slated to begin on March 15th, 2021. While air travel hasn’t fully recovered yet, this flight coincides perfectly with Alaska Airline’s timeline of joining Oneworld on March 31st, 2021. Alaska Airlines will be able to provide connectivity to many West Coast cities such as Portland and Spokane which are not economically feasible for Qatar Airways. Seattle has achieved an influx of new airlines, partly due to its tech boom from Microsoft and Amazon. From Cathay Pacific to Qatar Airways, Seattle is increasingly turning into a competitive market similar to New York’s JFK and LAX.

The new flight will be flown by an A350-900 which features Qatar’s award-winning Qsuites business class. Alaska Airline redemption rates will be out soon as well, and we will update you with a new post as soon as possible!

Flight Schedule:

QR719; Doha to Seattle; Departure: 08:00; Arrival: 11:20

QR720; Seattle to Doha; Departure 15:55; Arrival: 17:05 (next day)

Bottom Line:

Seattle is being serviced by Delta, a SkyTeam carrier, and multiple Oneworld airlines such as Cathay Pacific, American Airlines, Japan Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and now, Qatar Airways. The competition just heated up so much more, and I’m excited to see who wins Seattle in the future.
